Superblue Miami
MOAD’s free children’s education program on the move, GOGO MOAD, pops up at locations throughout Miami. Shared learning experiences of exploring ideas and creating together, these programs include artist-led hands-on art-making and fun collaborative activities for the whole family.
Open to children ages 5 and up and their families.
On September 10, artist Asser Saint-Val leads participants in experimenting and creating with spray-painting techniques using unconventional materials and tools such as markers, an air pump, and the breath.
Born in Haiti, Saint-Val earned BFAs in both Painting and Graphic Design from New World School of the Arts, University of Florida, Gainesville. His work investigates Neuromelanin as it relates to spirituality and self-consciousness, and he explores these ideas in paintings and multi-sensory interactive art installations. The artist’s works are quasi-figurative and ambiguous and bring together ideas central to modern debates about Neuromelanin. Saint-Val has exhibited at the Museum of Art and Design at MDC (2014); Farside Gallery, Miami (2013); and Miami Dade County Public Library (2008). He lives and works in Miami.
