    October 15, 2025 - December 31, 2026

    Freedom Tower
600 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132

    Kislak Center in Freedom Hall

Built originally to be the home of the Miami Daily News, the Freedom Tower shares a deep connection with the written word. The books, letters, maps, artifacts, and works of art in the Jay I. Kislak Collection honor a centuries-long interest in recording and interpreting ideas, knowledge, and memory. Using objects as entry points, Languages of Migration acknowledges the importance of cultural exchange across vast geographic regions, the migration of people and ideas, the dissemination of information through written and pictorial communications, and the fusion of cultures as people move from one place to another. Languages of Migration includes works by contemporary artists who incorporate themes and concepts of crossroads, movement, spiritualities, signs and symbols, and mapping also found in the historic works on view.

    Contemporary Artists Include:

    Julie Buffalohead

    Edouard Duval-Carrié

    Pepe Mar

    Harold Mendez

    Jaune Quick-to-See Smith
