10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
African Heritage Cultural Arts Center
6161 NW 22nd Avenue, Miami
MOAD’s free children’s education program on the move, GOGO MOAD, pops up at the Liberty City Reads Fest at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center. GOGO MOAD programs feature shared learning experiences of exploring ideas and creating together, and include artist-led hands-on art-making and fun collaborative activities for the whole family.
Liberty City Reads is a festival to celebrate published literature from local writers in Miami, and celebrates literary culture in Liberty City through programming. GOGO MOAD will be participating in the day's festivities by leading a Community Quilt session. Participants will make their own quilt-inspired artwork based on the creations of Faith Ringgold, using fabric, markers, and tote bags! Think about your community and what Liberty City means to you.
GOGO MOAD is open to children ages 5 and up and their families. This event is free and open to the public. GOGO MOAD is part of the Museum Without Boundaries initiative.
