Join us for a MOAD Makes poetry, movement, and sound activation.
Continuing the creative exploration inspired by Abstraction as Legacy, Cuban multidisciplinary artist, poet, and filmmaker Luis Eligio D Omni joins Cuban-American multi-instrumentalist and composer Michael Gil for an interdisciplinary workshop exploring the connections between poetry, visual art, sound, rhythm, and performance.
Through experimental writing prompts, sound, and collaborative exercises, participants will explore poetry beyond the written word and consider how rhythm, movement, and sound can transform our experience of art.
Luis Eligio is a founding member of the internationally recognized collective OmniZonaFranca and co-creator and artistic director of the Endless Poetry Festival. Michael Gil is the founder and artistic director of the Moving Music Museum and has spent more than a decade creating music and arts education experiences across South Florida.
Light refreshments will be served.
This event is free and open to the public.
Event attendees may park for free in the MDC garage at 500 NE Second Avenue, between NE Fifth and NE Sixth Streets.
