    Second Floor, Knight Skylight Gallery

Multidisciplinary artist Sharon Louden (b. 1964) creates large-scale sculptures that serve as thoughtful, awe-inspiring spatial interventions. With an art career spanning over 40 years, her reflective ceiling installations—like the one featured in this gallery—invite visitors to pause and, quite literally, reflect. Sweeping across the ceiling, massive aluminum panels form organic angles and curved planes. These curvilinear shapes loosely suggest elements of the natural world, such as rolling hills or a windswept seascape.

The interplay of brightness, light, and nature encourages visitors to consider how Miami emerges as a place of convergence and healing. In this room, the history of the Freedom Tower—deeply connected to the core values of journalism and community resilience—comes to life, as stories of determination and success are honored and celebrated.

The following individuals contributed to this work: Mark Azimov, Jeffrey A. Caballero, Fawn Embrey, Mark Herrera, Conchobar Keegan, Richie Moreno, Rob Phipps, Guillermo Ruballo, Margarita Valderrama G., Vinson Valega, Anthony Villasmil, and Malcolm Xavier.
