Martin A. Tsang, the Cuban Heritage Collection Librarian and Curator of Latin American Collections at the University of Miami, leads a tour of Where the Oceans Meet, an exhibition of modern and contemporary art that resonates with the pioneering thought of two Caribbean writers, Lydia Cabrera and Édouard Glissant. While discussing specific artworks and archival materials on view, Tsang sparks a conversation on “The Hidden Cabrera,” highlighting the Cuban painter, scholar, and writer’s biography and research methods.
The exhibition tour with Martin A. Tsang is a public program that accompanies the exhibition Where the Oceans Meet, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist, Asad Raza, Gabriela Rangel, and Rina Carvajal. It is made possible by generous support from the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners; and the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture.
